I prefer the scent to the EDP- it is denser, less generic and smells more sophisticated. I would say this is best used in the evening. Bleu de Chanel is basic because it is easy to use for most social situations (office, date, leisure, etc.) in warmer weather. That said, as a person who owns a BdC, I love the smell, and use it frequently because of how insanely easy it fits in my social situations. Based on the price and quality, the EDP might be the best bet. But if you are going to the decant route, EDP's and Parfum's price difference isn't big. So, my recommendation is just buy decants of all three and see how it goes.

Feels like the Parfum goes in a slightly different direction with the sandalwood (and a few other notes) making it more suitable for colder weather. Downside to the Parfum version is reduced sillage (in my experience) and the increased price. Bleu de Chanel Parfum has a sophisticated scent profile with fresh citrus and mint top notes, aromatic lavender and geranium in the heart, and a warm, woody base of sandalwood and cedarwood. I appreciate its versatility, suitable for any occasion.
