I recently bought a 79090 which seems to be suffering from a poor power reserve. It had been on a watch winder for a couple of weeks, took it out last night to wear this morning and it had stopped around 5am, which meant that it only has a power reserve of 7 hours! I’ve spoken about the uncomfortable balance of opinion that surrounds vintage Tudor and watches like today’s Tudor Submariner 79090. The proponents of these watches talk about their stout build quality and the fact that, despite using purchased movements, these watches are 99% as good as their far more costly Rolex counterparts.
The 79090 is a great watch. I had one a few years ago and (along with others) regret letting it go. It may be bordering vintage, but the ETA movement is easy and inexpensive to service. Can any Tudor 79090 owners share their accuracy experience? My 79090 is currently losing 8-10 seconds a day. It has generally lost 8 seconds a day for the 15 years I've had it. I just had the watch in to RSC Toronto for service, and specifically asked them if they could improve the accuracy.
