In response to your inquiry your timepiece the Mark XVIII IW327015 is a calibre 35111 which is a Sellita movement. In order to confirm authenticity of the timepiece it would need to be sent in to our technical team to obtain a Certificate of Authenticity.
The IWC calibre 35111 is built to IWC specs but based on the Sellita SW300-1 which is used by a multitude of reputable watch companies. It is indeed a very good, robust and reliable movement and as it is fairly popular may be more easily serviced than an exclusive in-house movement. Saying that, both books and watch lack accuracy. The former in so many ways, the latter running three seconds fast per day. That’s well within spec for IWC’s ubiquitous 35111 Calibre (a modified ETA 2892), but I hoped for better.Full details and images of the IWC caliber 35111, including a list of all watches using this movement.

JLC is much better, my IWC has been as accurate as any COSC cert, just as accurate as my Rolex, even my old Fortis Pilots Chrono regulated and service by a local shop is just as good as any COSC certified watch I am owned. The 35111 has a power reserve of 42 hours, and also features a date and stop seconds. Personally, I am convinced that IWC will also use a manufacture calibre in this pilot’s line in the coming years. After all, the Spitfire line received a factory update in 2019 and has been using the in-house calibre 32110 with automatic winding ever since . IWC called it their caliber 37524 and made some changes to the construction as well as the finish of this movement. The Mark XVIII uses caliber 35111, based on the Sellita SW300-1. You can say the IWC Pilot’s Spitfire watch has a slight advantage here, using their own movement for a price difference of 200 Euro.
